The UBC Faculty of Medicine’s DigEM is a self-funded unit which carries out research, evaluation, engagement, educational, knowledge translation and policy informing work to explore and advance the use of modern personal information and communication technologies (for example, mobile, social media, multimedia, the Internet and bio-sensors) to improve health care and management.
Though there are several research groups in eHealth or Health Informatics in Canada and worldwide, our team uniquely combine research, engagement and educational approaches with individual, community and organizational level health initiatives.
We strive for excellence in research, evaluation and knowledge translation. With expertise in collaborative, participatory methodologies and a reputation for developing and implementing rigorous multi-method research, our team leads and partners with organizations to design, build and deliver innovative programs in a variety of contexts to connect people to better health.
